The requirements of the client, the concept devised by the lighting designers and the philosophy of Calleja as supplier of the lighting products went hand in hand in this project.
All light sources needed to be concealed as inconspicuously as possible. Capitals and cornices serve as discreet mounting locations for spotlights. The metal halide lamps emit a brilliant light with high quality colour rendering.
A feeling of bright light with fewer fittings has been achieved by increasing the luminosity in direct relation to the height of the building. The effect, which starts from the middle of columns that line the main aisle and culminates in the dome itself, is further enhanced by directed light that picks out numerous sculptures, making their vivid character more appreciable.
