A message from our Managing Director
Over the past year, the economy, especially in the business to business sector in which we operate, has been awash with anxiety and suspended in a state of wait-and-see.

Rather than dwell on things that we can’t control, we’ve elected to better position ourselves for growth and profitability in the future. Our company is steadily progressing with a two year plan to make dramatic improvements in all areas of our operation – making us better equipped than ever before to create lasting value for customers.
From February 1st, 2010, these changes will be expressed by a new corporate identity. We will officially operate under our family name: ‘Calleja’ and will be recognised by a new trademark.
The ‘Calleja’ name leverages the longevity, credibility and experience of our family business, while signalling fresh impetus as we move forward into a new era in our 85 year history.
This initiative represent more than just an exercise in aesthetics, it is an evolution of our relationship with customers. Over the years, those who chose us as their preferred electrical supplier did so more because of interest in a given product than for our brand.
We hope to correct this shortcoming over the next 2 years through a multi-faceted, solutions-oriented approach, that makes: dedication, innovation and personal responsibility in our relationships as important as the products we sell.
Our new marketing slogan – ‘The power of we’, will bring to life a new strategy, core signature, customer-friendly service features, a new showroom and marketing messages to position our organisation as not only supplying electrical products, but also the insight and expertise to help customers integrate them into the fabric of their projects.
The rebirth of our lighting showroom in Bishop Labini Street, B’Kara is now complete. This embodies Calleja’s new brand promise in every aspect – from the ‘look and feel’ to the way customers move through the space. With an emphasis on versatility, this striking, contemporary environment is well beyond the local standard retail lighting outlet that is impersonal and crowded.
We are eager to move forward after operating under the enormous constraints of planning, preparing and implimenting the changes you will see in the next few months. The promise of the future is in our people and products, our imagination and resourcefulness, our operational excellence and fiscal discipline, and, of course, our powerful brand.
